WHO WE ARE

 The North American Province of

the School Sisters of St. Francis of Christ the King

We are the North American Province of the School Sisters of St. Francis of Christ the King with our Provincial Center in Lemont, Illinois.  We are one of the smaller provinces, but over the past 100+ years we have continued living the charism of Mother Margareta and our Congregation as we served and continue to serve in education and other ministries in the United States.

Although at one time we had Sisters serving from Pennsylvania to California, today we are all ministering in Illinois with most of us living on our Mt. Assisi hill.  We work and have our presence at Alvernia Manor, our corporate ministry; we welcome guests to our Spirituality Center on the Mt. Assisi hill both for private individual prayer and for group retreats.  We travel off the hill to parishes where we serve and also have a presence.  Some of us work in various province offices on our hill, and some of us are retired and support the community with our prayer and presence.  Because of our close proximity to each other, our community members have many opportunities to be together for spiritual sharing and enrichment, fun activities, and province meetings.

Our Province is also represented on our General Council in Grottaferrata, Italy.  Sr. Jimene Alviani was elected to the Council in 2017 and resides in Italy.
